Can the mother take the children out of state without the father's consent? Or, against his wishes?
My wife insists on taking my kids on these 2 week per month visits to her family in California. I am against it and don't want these kids gone from me that long. I only get a couple weekends a month with them. But...she refuses to shorten the trip, or even to skip any. Can I tell her she can't go? Is this abduction if I say don't take the kids, and she does?

Sure, why couldn't she? (You need to post WAY more information for an accurate answer)

Generally speaking, BOTH parents within marriage have equal rights to the children of the marriage. If you two are married, she can take the kids on trips. You can take the kids on trips.

I'd see a local attorney for local laws. No attorneys from OR follow these boards, to my knowledge.

Is she currently your wife? If not, do you have any sort of court orders in place? If so, does it speak to your visitation rights?
