I live in Texas. I sold my house and land along with my mother-in-law's house and land. We sold it to a religious cult that was closing in around us. They have a violent nature. We decided to leave the area. We sold our property to them and moved 200 miles away. They held some of money until we move out. We gave them a date. We moved out the evening before the date. This was Saturday and they have their religious services. I could not reach their leader or the lawyer. I did not try the next day because we were on the road and unpacking. Monday morning I tried to phone the cult leader. I could not get an answe. I tried to contact the lawyer. His secretary told me he was in court. I left my name and number and asked her to have him call me. The next day I tried a different number for the cult leader. I left my name and telephone number. I called the lawyer again. His secretary said he was on the phone. Yet during my conversation I heard her say, "Here are the papers you are looking for George." He wasn't on the phone. I have recieved no contact from either. I sent a certified letter to the lawyer. I got the card back indicating he received the letter. I still have not heard anything. What legal recourse do I have? What is the name of your state? TexasWhat is the name of your state?
