I have three nephews enrolled in a Montessori private school. The problem began when the oldest nephew was excluded from the academic decathlon selection and education (different classes) due to grades. His parents wondered why because he had perfect test scores on all his tests. They went to the teacher to review his grades and it turned out that a 100 score was written down as a "10". They requested a review so that their son can be elegible for the decathlon. The teacher / administration denied the request stating that the selection had already been made.

The oldest son was very upset and did not like the way he's being treated because now he had to face the same teacher everyday. This is the same teacher that called him "looser" afterwards during class. His parents promptly transferred him to public school the following semester. He is adjusting well and like it much better and say that it's more challenging. It's a good thing that it happend I guess. I don't like how it happened though..but moving on....

Now the other problem is the two remaining nephews. Their parents did not want to take them out of the Motessori school until the academic year is over. Now the school is forcing "students" who are not return to the Montessori school the following year to wear different uniform colors for the school year end graduation. My nephews had been attending the school for several years and they never had this policy before.

Now truely this is discrimination. The parents don't want to make this a big legal matter but what can they do?

your opinions?

Q: The parents don't want to make this a big legal matter but what can they do?

A: Nothing; it's a private business.

So why did they tell the school their other kids aren't returning?
Probably durring a heated discussion...Also, I think tuition has to be paid before the next academic year.

There is always two side to a story. Anyway, I think their other kids will not be going to the year end ceremony.
