What is the name of your state? Wisconsin

Recently, several of my friends and I were arrested at a protest in which resulted windows being smashed and paint being thrown at an army recruiting station. The next morning we were released to find our protest was portrayed in an extremely poor light (no surprise there) with all our names in the paper. The paint and broken windows of course were reported however they also mentioned that human feces were smeared all over. Clearly from pictures, accounts from witnesses, and a simple observation of the scene there were no feces involved. Unfortunately, this didn't stop every newspaper and newstation in the area from reporting that there were. Im very frustrated at the situation as it is very difficult for anyone to take your affinity group seriously when everybody in the area believes we would take part in such a juvenile act (please keep in mind I'm not writing in for a discussion on whether destruction of property is juvenile). Much less, my friends and I do not wish to have our names tied to chucking human waste. From what I gathered from the reporters, they were given this information by the police. Is there anything I can do legally in this situation? What is the name of your state?

Wow, that is SUCH a bummer that you smashed windows and threw paint at a US Military station and THEN were portrayed in a bad light...

And it IS a horror that, after all the other things you did, your o-so-untarnished names are tied to chucking human waste! Oh, the madness you have endured! The stain!

Let us all hurry, hurry, hurry to help you...

so how bout that help?

thanks for being an *******, but i suppose i kind of deserved that for failing to mention none of us were involved in the destruction of property. We were arrested for participating in a "boisterous and unreasonably loud protest" and we all recieved disorderly conduct tickets. Bottom line is that the police flat out lied about the situation and I'm frustrated about that. I also mentioned I am not writing to hear views on "politically appropriate protesting".

Guess what, Junior? The advice is free and the comments are free as well. As is the free country in which *I* live. You are welcome to go someplace else. Mexico has lots of open slots, I hear.

Meanwhile, let's talk some more about you throwing...what was it, after all? Dog poo?...at the windows. Do you work for some sort of doggy-poo removal service? I pay for doggy poo removal from my yard. Nice, nice teenagers do the work. Could it be that you are not so nice of a teenager?

:p

Piss off jingo

Im sorry that you dont seem to mind that our representatives fail to represent anymore, but i really dont give a **** about broken windows and paint as far as i'm concerned the whole building should have been filled with ****. That really isn't even the issue, I had a question about cops fabricating information for the purpose of turning like-minded individuals off to our group and movement. It would seem that you answered my question though, because im sure that I would have to deal with flag-waving idiots like you, who dont care about the incompetence of our government or how marginalized and ineffectual peaceful protest has become. By the way, I don't think the "violent" actions at the Boston Tea Party would have done a whole lot if they covered the boat in crap when they finished.

Oh, shove off.

For goodness sakes, if YOU weren't personally involved in the throwing of paint and window distruction, then how do you know that those that were (and part of your protest rally) did NOT do what was reported. The fact is that you were arrested (that's a factual statement) at a destructive rally. No slander/libel/defamation, therefore, no case.

If you want anyone to actually listen to you, you might try acting in a civilized manner. Oh, wait...I forgot. Then it wouldn't be any fun, would it? Yeah...all those boring hours spent trying to bring about peace in a peaceful manner. Last I checked, destruction of property (MY property, if you want to get real technical, here) is in not usually considered a 'peaceful' rally. Who'd 'a thunk???

And for someone that doesn't want to get into a charged discussion about anything other than the specific topic (which I did answer) you sure did mouth off, in a very boring and unimaginative manner, at that.

Flag waving idiots like us are the ones who truly care about any incompetence in our government. We are the ones who have sons and relatives who actually serve our country and protect pitiful s. o .b. 's like you. As for flinging waste, your actions are nothing but a flinging of waste. You are able to create some little world in your own mind where destruction is somehow convoluted into constructive action. How exactly does that work?? Grow up and take decisive action to change the things that you think are wrong. And in the meantime have the decency to treat with respect, those things that are affiliated with the men and women who sacrifice their families and their lives to protect your sorry @ss.

Derek17, nobody answered my (similar) question either: whether the police can lawfully lie to the media. I'm curious as to whether any attorneys actually post here. I'd say keep looking and asking for advice (elsewhere), don't let these replies get you down.

See, kids, this is the fun thing about volunteering:

I don't have to tell you a dang thing if I don't see fit to do so. :D

Go pay an attorney to give you answers. ;)

I designed that a few months ago. I thought it was fitting for this topic. I did it as a test to see if anyone would buy something so silly. I've sold about 20 of these, and for some reason all the sales have been from states in the NE US. I guess people in the friendly south don't care for this sort of thing. :D

you are apparently a dressing (typo intended) the wrong market. Every teenager I know would love to have one of those.
