Mortgage after Bankruptcy

What is the name of your state? TX

We filed Ch 7. in September 2005 and discharged in Jan of 2006. We have found a home that we are interested in possibly purchasing. Is it too soon after bankruptcy for us to try for a mortgage loan? Can anyone recommend a lender who might could help us?

It may be smarter to wait until you clean up your credit. The interest rate would be high!

There are lenders that will give you a mortgage they day after your discharge, but the interest rate will be horrendous. Shop around.

You really should engage in credit cleanup post-discharge, then mortgage shop.
