state of maine. how long does a mortgage company have to collect after foreclosure proceedings have started. the mort. company got summary judgment. two years later i'm still living here. i was told by f.h.a. they pulled the insurance, the house was not marketable. it had a bad appraisal, wrong value. it had zoning violations, an oil spill, buried car, contaminated well, etc. how long does the mortgage company have to collect. any other information would be appreciated.

My response:

I rather doubt they will. Now that they know what's wrong with the land, they'll probably leave you alone. It sounds more like a hazardous waste dump than a home - - a great place to bring up the kiddies. "Hey Billy, let's go play in the oil spill ! "

They don't want a liability on their books.

Call the E.P.A. ! !

I never thought I'd be saying this, but have you thought about "moving up" to a trailer ?
