mortgage contact broken?

ohio. refinanced my home thru large bank, their title co
wrote me "bad" check for equity after closing, then went
bankcrupt. if bank refuses to pay me money owed are they
in breach of mortgage contract?

No, since the bank apparently already funded and gave the money to the escrow company. The bank already paid their money. The escrow/title company stole your money.
