We recently purchased a timeshare in Florida. The resort provided the original financing. I took out a home equity loan and paid off half of the timeshare's mortgage so that the remaining balance would be recalculated at a lower interest rate and monthly payment. We signed the ammended mortgage papers, had them notarized and mailed back to the resort. They now say an error was made by them in calculating the monthly payments and remaining balance. They are drawing up a revised addendum for us to sign. I feel that this was their error and we should not have to pay the extra amount. They refuse to adjust the interest rate until we do what they ask. What are our legal rights?
