We only paid on our mortgage a year, but now the company send us a letter that it is paid in full, along with the original deed of trust. When I went to the courthouse i found that our property was released into our name.
Now the company calls us, wanting mortgage payments. do we have a chance of not having to pay them?

I don't think so. Your original mortgage called for you to make a certain number of payments of a certain amount in order to receive title to the property. Even though you were mistakenly given the deed, you have not fulfilled your part of the contract. Perhaps the mortgagor might modify it due to their error. Can't hurt to ask.
