I live in MN and I was just served a motion to modify child support by my Ex. It says I have to respond in 20 days or the court MAY just let the change go into effect.
I was told by my social worker that I DO NOT have to repsond and can just go to the hearing and plead my side of the case. I am worried if I don't respond I may lose my child support completely.
My Ex is saying he makes almost no money even though he owns his own business, drives new cars and spends plenty of money going out often.
Does anyone know if I have to file a response, it costs $152 to file it and I would have to have all sorts of forms filled out and notarized to do it. Or can I just show up at the hearing to tell Judge my side?
Thanks
