What is a Motion for Relief from automatic stay and abandonment of property?

Motion for Relief from the automatic stay = some creditor is asking the BK court to lift the automatic stay so that they can go forward with some collection action. This is typical of a mortgage lender who wants to foreclose or a car loan who wants to repo.

Abandonment of property is the Trustee telling the court and all your creditors that there are no assets in your case and therefore nothing to take to pay creditors.
