i purchased a new 2001 motorcycle about two months ago and was able to drive it off the lot that day. even though the dealer knew I was a first time owner they never mentioned to me anything about a motorcycle endorsement on my drivers license required in the state of florida. This last thursday night I got stopped by the orange county sheriff and they arrested me for this infraction. i have to appear in court on the 24th and was wondering what options I have to fix this situation. i have already gone and passed the written motorcycle test and plan on taking the road test in two days.

My response:

That's exactly what you'll need to show the judge - - that you've passed everything and that you're now a properly licensed motorcycle driver.

If you get a sypathetic judge, the fine might be waived entirely. If you get a prick of a judge, you'll have to pay the fine and chalk it up to one of those little "hic-ups" in life.

Good luck, wear your helmet, and drive defensively. Remember, trucks can't see you !
