I purchased a Motorcycle from a guy and have a receipt (and two friends were with me when I bought it). The guy I purchased it from had to get his part of the title notarized and then he was going to mail it to me. It is now a month and a half later and I still don't have a title. I have his address, but lost his phone number (and his number is unlisted) so I can't bug him about it by calling. What should I do? Call the police? Get a lawyer? Send him a letter?

title to motorcycle

Before anything else, I would strongly suggest you send him a letter. And try not to antagonize him. Mention in the letter that you have not received the title, you assume he forgot about it, and you would appreciate it if he mailed it to you.

If that does not work, then consider either going to small claims court to get him to deliver title, or have an attorney send him a letter on your behalf.

when you send the letter send it certified. So you have proof that you sent it and he recieved it.
