my girlfriend had signed a lease contract to move into her apartment for march 3rd. this lease was signed and dated by the management for that move in date and promised to her for that move-in date. now the tenant that is currently living there has decided to stay another week thus making us move the move-in date back one week. we had already packed all her stuff, made all the plans to move in with rental truck and acquired hands for help for this date that we thought was going to be the move in date. we had also made made all the neccasary plans for telephone and electricity changes for march the 3rd.
if they signed the contract and dated for her to have that move in date and her lease payment to start on march 3rd isnt it breach of contract if they do not up hold to this signed and dated lease contract by moving up her date of move-in another week? she even already gave the non-refundable security deposit
left wondering and angry in california.....thanks very much for your response

I would today go to the apartment and get the name and fowarding address, or license plate # of there car phone # any info you can get of the tenant and sue them in small claims court....

The landlord can only do so much, if the tenant refuses to move then they are liable for your expenses.

You must explain that to both of them today.
