hello,
i live in california. my bathroom had a major water leak. i called the landlord she had a handyman come out and he stated that the reason that the bathroom floor was flooded with water was because of the way our shower door was closed. but you could cleary see that it was coming from under the wall. the landlord told me to hold off to see if it would dry. my bathroom was flooded for about two weeks (i took pictures as well). im moving soon and do to the water leak my bathroom floor has a yellow water stain on it from the toliet rug. shoud i be held responsible when it comes down to my deposit money?

please respond thanks a million

No ..... but you will be held responsible, when has a landlord ever accepted responsiblity for thier mistakes?

Guess you have to sue them in court.....

UNLESS you get the landlord to do a move out report and SIGN IT....as to the damages you owe.

If you leave without it or a signed statement you owe the landlord nothing and he has to return your security, be prepared to be sued.
