Wondering what options/recourse we have. Have just moved from New York City to Seattle, WA. Our stuff moved by a major US van line. Delivery was scheduled for yesterday or today, and last night we got a call telling us the semi had overturned by the side of the highway in South Dakota. Have called local police and checked - this appears to be true. Semi on its side and cannot be righted. Stuff will have to be reloaded onto a new truck by hand. No delivery date anticipated.

When our stuff arrives, I just know it will be a shambles. We did not take any (extra) insurace. Does anone know.... do we get anything back if things are ruined? Can we refuse to pay for delivery of broken, ruined personal possessions? Do we have any recourse at all?

Thanks very much if anyone knows anything about this. :(
