No, you cannot legally leave. Yes you can get into a lot of trouble. I suggest you discuss the problems with a counselor at school.

Those are facts. I will add one more. You are to immature too even consider not having adult supervision.

BTW, go to bed. It is 11:30 in your time zone. You have school tomorrow.

And any adult who helps with this plan could be in even bigger trouble.

OP needs to deal with the real problems. If the home is unsafe, call CPS- no matter what. OTOH, maybe OP should work on her own issues. If her own brother is telling her that she's going to end up as a pregnant druggie, then SOMETHING is going on to give him that idea. Maybe she needs help of a different kind.

Not opinion. Fact.

When you are 18, you can go where you want, stay where you wish, and no one can do a thing about it. But as someone here once said (I think it was Unka Jeffy) 17 is not 18 lite. At 17, you are still legally under the care, control and custody of your parents.

MO is one of those states where occasionally the authorities are reluctant to return a 17 year old home if they are safe. We have no way of knowing whether this is true specifically where you are. But make no mistake, they CAN. And if your folks make enough of a fuss, they WILL. Also, nothing in the law prevents your parents from forcing you home themselves without the assistance of the police.

That is why I suggested a school counselor. If you find a good one, they can be a great help.

Wow... aren't you a joy to behold?

The fact is that you are 16 years old.

You stay where you are until a judge says that you can leave.

Convincing a judge to let you leave will never happen. (you don't mention a job, that you are already living on your own, that you have a valid reason to leave - and no, people are mean at you is not a valid reason - or a business plan that shows are you are going to care for yourself).

I will let you draw the lines between those statements.

You have a wonderful day now. Don't give away your baby for a high.

Study hard in school and prove them wrong. Find a quiet place in your house and make it your retreat.

Remember just because they say mean things to you, it doesn't make them right.

Rise above this.

You can do it.
