What is the name of your state? KY
My current employer is moving 2 hours away. I have a nice offer to move with the company and am considering the offer. In my divorce decree - it does not state that I have to stay in the state of Kentucky. Would I have to get the courts persmission to move? Would it be up to me to alter the visitation agreement (transportation issues only - not days)?

Thanks,
kcb

It is smart you checked your own decree, but not you must check Kentucky state guidelines. ALL states have moveaway guidelines, that must be followed even if not in your actual divorce papers.

And it is always smart to change the visitation issues before you move.

I agree with Haiku. Also... what does your CUSTODY order say? I don't know that your divorce decree even matters unless it contains specific custody issues.

Sorry for the confusion. All the custody/child support issues are covered in the separation agreement. I will read up on the Kentucky guidelines - thanks.
