What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia

My mother kicked me out when I was 16. Threw my stuff in the yard, and told my grandparent to come get it, and that he could have me because she was through with me. That was a year ago. I'm 17.5, and I have been living with my grandparents. But I am ready to move out on my own. What are the possible consequences if my mother got mad about it? She still technically has custody of me. But I have a full time job, go to school, and pay my own expenses.

She can demand that you come back to live with her.

Why do you want to move out? Why not put up with whatever's bothering you for a few more months?

As long as you are under 18, you live where your mother says you live. If she says you live with your grandparents, then you live with your grandparents. If she says you come home, you come home.

She does not want me to live with her. She wants nothing to do with me, she only wants to have power over me. My grandparents drive me crazy. How would she force me to move back in with her?

Also couldn't she get in trouble for kicking me out before I was 18?

No, she sent you to your grandparents' house to live.

She didn't send me to live with them. She kicked me out and there the ones who let me live with them...
Which is NOT what you said originally....

told my grandparent to come get it, and that he could have me because she was through with me.
So, yeah, you were sent to live with your grandparents, no matter how you slice it.

You have a roof over your head and food in your belly? Then you're being taken care of.

You already got the correct legal advice. if you go somewhere that Mom doesn't agree with, she can order you to come home - or go back to grandparent's house. You don't get to choose where you live for another half year. You'd be well served to make the best of it rather than making yourself (and probably everyone around you) miserable.

She can send the cops after you.

She can drive to your grandparent's home herself and tell you to get in the car.

She can tell your grandparents that they are to send you home.

How many ways do you want to hear?

She can even get you put on house arrest where you have to live with an ankle bracelet...I have seen that happen.
