What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?"
Florida

I'm about 16 moving in with my friend and his family around June 5th and my mom has given me permission to go due to the fact that she's an obsessive alcoholic and has more time on her hands with her boyfriend rather then me. My friend (who is 18) was recommended to be my POA by his Cousin, so we wanted to get my mom to sign it for us. We have researched all of it, but we couldn't find the one thing that we wanted to know...
We want to know how she can override or cancel the POA at any time, and is it possible? If so, how?

A power of attorney is freely revokable. All mom needs to do is notify the attorney-in-fact that the power has been revoked.

So it's verbal or she has to write a document canceling it?
Verbal would be plenty but she'd be well advised to inform (in writing or other means) both the attorney in fact and any of those who might have known about the prior relationship.
