Fl. Beginning 11/04, my domestic partner and I resided in my home. In 03/06, we ended the relationship. My problem is that his personal belongings as well as his office equipment are still in my home. He refuses to speak to me but we have correspond ended via email on several occasions in which he states that he needs to get his things from my home and will let me know when it is convenient for him. Four months later, his things are still here. What are my legal rights concerning his things? Do I have any legal responsibility to continue to hold his things until it is convenient for him or can I consider his things abandon and remove them from my home? What is the name of your state?

I would recommend sending him a certified letter giving him 30 days to remove his belongings from your home, or you will consider them to be abandoned and will dispose of them yourself.

You can also pack them up and remove them to your garage or other storage area if you have that available.
