What is the name of your state?nm

My friend is leaving her bf. Who has been in touch with his lawyer he tells there mutual friends that he hates her talks a lot of dirt about her, he also supposidly has it stated with his lawyer. But then turns around and writes my friend letters saying he loves her and wants to work things out. How would this situation with the letters as proof hold up in court. Or is this in material childs play?

any comments or advise?
