What is the name of your state? CA

I want to create a custom music on hold CD for my business. If I use music from a purchased CD but interrupt it every 30 seconds or less will I still need to get a license from BMI, ASCAP, etc for using the songs?

BIG DITTO!!!

Just so you know, ASCAP and BMI employ college students to monitor such things as performance in live bars, concerts and presentations but also has a hotline for violations that, if someone calls you and is annoyed at the music, will call to report you.

The hotline for ASCAP received more than 12,000 calls last month.
