What is the name of your state? Tennessee

I'm starting a DVD service and need to add background music to slideshows. Should I ask the customer to provide the music as they have purchased it and the royalties have been paid? If the customer doesn't provide the music, can I purchase it and give it to them. I just want to be legal?

It doesn't matter who purchases the music, permission will be required to use the music as you described.
