What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? KY

I am a self employed consultant. Problem is I haven't had work for the past year. I have had E&O insurance for 10 years, but since I haven't had any work or foreseeable work, I decided to let my E&O insurance lapse. When I received my last bill, I ignored it. The insurance carrier contacted me and is demanding payment of insurance and is threatening to send my bill to a collection agency. Can they have any legal right to justify that I pay them just because I didn't formally cancel my insurance?
