Florida-I currently have primary residence and custody of my 3 year old son. I gave a baby up for adoption in october of 2001. I had a postpardum depression break down. I spent one night in a mental institution for attempted suicide. I didn't see my son for a little over 2 months. I have been taking care of him on tuesdays and thursdays now for a little over a month, and I will now be taking care of him on Saturday afternoon till monday moring. We both live with our parents. I was...in trouble for a while, but I care about my son and I'm a good mom. Now my ex boyfriend is suing me for full/sole custody of our son. I honestly don't belive that him having my son is in the best intrests of my son. I want to raise my son to be a thinking and self-aware person. That will not happen if he is with his dad. Plus, his dad has had some anger management problems in the past. My son listens to him now, but i'm scard of the the time when he doesn't, past incidences are not a good indication of the future. I want to fight him. (i'm really glad i found this bb) I don't have alot of money, i'm a 20 yr old single mom, and I need help. I was sent a petition for change of primary physical residence and custody. The petition mentions my suicide attempt, the fact that I didn't see my son for 2 months, and me giving a baby up for adoption as the reasons for him suing me. I have to send a reply to the court in two weeks.
What am I supposed to put in the letter?
What am I supposed to do now?
Does anyone think I could win??
I feel lost so i appreciate any help.
Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You!!!
