What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC
long involved story:
I moved a house (a real "stick built" house, not a mobile home) onto my fathers property, with the (verbal) agreement of him deeding off two acres that the house sits on, when he dcides to sell his home , on the other ten acres. He financed the move of the house, which was 15K, and I was repaying him at 650.00 per month. The time came for him to sell his home and lot, he wanted to sell the land to me instead of give, which I agreed to, but I was not able to aquire the financing for it. He offered to buy me out for a total of 50K, I did not agree, because the house was worth well over 100K. Also, I was late on my monthly payments due to a slow time in work (construction). (He was fine with this previously, as he was in the same field of work, and knew it was "feast and famine" kind of work. I had been paying two to three months of payments at a time when jobs completed.) When I refused to let a realtor into my home to make an appraisal, he took my wife and I to court for "non-payment of rent" and had us evicted.
We later filed a lien on the property so they couldn't sell. This all happened in 2007.
We have tried just talking with them, all we want is to move back into the house, we would resume payments, but they won't even discuss. What are our options?
