My fiancee's ex-husband's filing.

Question from Colorado. My fiancee's ex-husband filed for personal bankruptcy while they were separated, but before they divorced. After their divorce, the creditors went after my fiancee, who is unable to pay. If I marry her, will I become responsible for those debts?

Not unless you add your name to those bills. There will be problems though should you both apply for credit to buy a home or a car and you need her income to qualify for the loans. Tough situation. Good luck.
