Ok, here is my issue. My Father and I have been restoring cars for a few years now. We built a beautiful garage in my backyard and have been working out of it for about a year now. What started as a hobby for our cars may turn into a money maker. People in my auto club have asked me to perform work on their cars, ie restoration, engine work, etc. If I accept, I will make some money. That would make me a business right??

So, my situation would be this. I have a garage on my property, which is NOT zoned for business. I work on a car a couple hours each night. In the end, I get paid for my services. Or I build a car at my house and sell it for a profit. During this work, I would not advertise anywhere, and only work on friends and family cars (not that it really matters). But, where is the line crossed? If I said I was a business, since it deals with cars, is osha/epa now involved?

Is there anyway to keep my hobby, even if it makes me money?

Help!!!!!
