What is the name of your state? New Jersey

My husband and I have been married seven years. He is currently buying a house. I have not constructively worked outside of the home in at least 2 years. He is the only name on the mortgage. I honestly (don't criticise me, long story), don't want any ownership of the house. How do such things work in New Jersey - does it matter whether I'm on the deed? I know it's an equitable distribution state - it seems to me that I am still an owner of the house. What happens if he were to die? (No, I'm not planning on killing him either).

Thanks.
