Im 17 years old and I live in Florida. I ran away, but went back home, and my folks packed up all my stuff, and told me I could move in with my boyfriend. Now, they keep demanding that I come home. What I would like to know is if my parents have the legal right to force me to return home, even though they allowed me to go in the beginning? Also, what would be my legal rights in this sort of situation?

Yes, your parents can tell you where to live. They're free to change their minds.

Your rights are to do what your parents tell you to do until you're 18.

Yep, they sure do. Even if.

To go home and listen to your parents until you turn 18.

Damn tootin' they do, kiddo. Just because they made a horrendous error in judgement initially does not mean they do not get to correct their mistake.

To do what you are told and get your little behind back home where it belongs. At 17, you have all the rights your parents say you have and none that they do not, when it comes to where you are allowed to be and with whom you are allowed to be there.
