State of Georgia. We own land on and in a small lake owned only by the residents on the lake. Eighteen families to be exact. My question: If someone were to come in to fish, and something like a drowning or bodily harm, are we as the owners liable, and would it be the one who owns that land under the water, or all the residents? What steps do landowners have to take to protect themselves from potentially dangereous liabilities?
