I'm in New York, but I doubt that matters.
I create my own designs. They are wacky stuffed dogs, bunnies, etcetera.
I was thinking about doing something for Halloween, where the dolls I sell would be
dressed up in costumes. So for example, one dog would be wearing a striped scarf and
glasses and sporting a wand or scar. Or a dog would be wearing a long braided wig with
a chameleon on her shoulder. Because these are obviously well known characters
(Harry Potter and Rapunzel) would that be crossing the copyright line?
