My parents are trying for custody of my kids

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
I live in washington state. I do not know why my mother is doing this.
The only thing i can think of is that i have no job right now and I am loosing my home to forclosure. I am not on any drugs or anything of that sort.
She did run by me if the kid could stay at her house and i visit them till i get back on my feet but i said no. They have been spending some time with my mom while i have been job searching and fixing up and rv to live in as last resort. I thought she was being helpfull till i got a restraining order/custody thing in the mail.
What should I do

You need to respond to her suit. See if legal aid can help you. If they cannot you are going to have to do it without an attorney.

I dont even know what grounds they are doing this on? How can i respond to something that i have no idea why they are doing this. Can i get copies at the clerks office?

The paperwork she served you should spell out her reasons for asking for custody. If the paperwork lists no reasons, then you respond by simply objecting to your mother/parents having custody, stating that you are a fit parent with the constitutional right to the care and custody of your children.

Please talk to legal aid. If they cannot help you then honestly, you are going to figure out how to do this on your own.

Shouldnt there be a reason for the temperary restraining order/pending child custody? SHouldnt it be stated in the paperwork that was given to me?
I am really confused as to why this is going on. I just do know that when i get my kids back my mother will NOT ever have access to my kids and she can fight me all she wants on that.
what do you think are my parents chances of winning? I know in washington state they are more for the mothers to have custody.

You've got a choice.

You can keep repeating your 'poor me' story or you can do something about it. You've already been told what you need to do.

Maybe it's not fair. That doesn't change the fact that it's happening. Do something about it.

I am going into the court house monday to find the proper paperwork i need and see if i can get some type of legal help.

It might be preferable to find something more county-specific, but here is a link to the State of Washington's Court Forms for non-parental custody. There is one entitled "Response to Non-Parental Custody Petition". Hope that helps.

Post #4 gave you the answers to your questions.

You then wrote post #5 which added nothing but repeat your initial complaints.

I am just taking a stab in the dark here (sarcasm) You must be the type to rip apart any posting to make it sound the way you want it to. This is a terrible situation I am not asking for sympathy just stating facts or reasons I believe this might be happening. Its all very confusing to me and I am very hurt. Am I not allowed to feel something? Just because u have no feelings doesnt give you the right to belittle others.

Funny thing - I underwent detailed testing as part of our custody battle - and tested normal in all regards.

OTOH, one of the symptoms of severe narcissistic personality disorder (there's no such disease as 'narcissm') is the tendency to accuse others of being narcissistic. You really need help.

Two totally unrelated things. Thanks for being so perceptive and btw my mother doesnt want custody of my son who is accused of this. So i am good enough parent for him but not for my other three kids... makes no sense...shouldnt in court either
I also forgot to mention my kids messaged me saying they all want to come home but grandma wont let them. They are very unhappy
