My son was at an athletic practice a week before school started on a saturday. A construction co was there and my son was running came around a corner and tried to stop put out his hand and ran into a piece of sheet metal has to go to emergency room and now even thought it is a year later has to see a specialist the construction co admitted they were wrong and are willing to pay medical but they took 7 months to contact me about the manner I live in Texas can I ask for a settlement and how much am I legally entitled to if the cust had gone an inch deep my son's thumb could have been severed. the worker admitted to my son that he had no idea that any students were on the campus any help is appreciated and should I hire an attorney this happened August 2000
