What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OHIO

Was denied first time..Have appealed. Called and they said decision was made on 21st of month.. Waiting on letter. If approved. which I believe he will be do to being documented legally blind. 20/400 in his best eye. Hand movement only in other.
Will He get back pay retro active 6 mo to when we first applied. approx 6mo ago..

When you get the letter (if he is approved for benefits) it will tell you about the backpay. If you have questions after reading the letter, call SSA.

We cannot tell you how much backpay will be awarded. I know of a case where the person got 6 months, another where the person got 2 years backpay. Various factors apply to each indivudual case. Backpay is usually given based on when it is determined that the claimant became disabled.
