What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? im in california my daughter got in a fight with her moterh on monday, she s now staying at a friends house
and is saying that she got slapped in the face by her mother for talking back ,so now ther is a big scandal going on, we had a mediation meeting with chil protective services, they said we could take her home but my daughter refused and insisted that she go with her friends. so the social worker said that he would have to put her in foster care if she did not want to go home with us or she could go with her friends house, and that we would slowly transition back until she comes home so we agreed now the parents are not letting us speak to our daughter. and we got frustrated and went to go get her,but they called the police and let them take our daugter into protective custudy. there are no charges or arrest made to my wife just a teenage brat who isint getting her way making allegations what are my rights as a parent who still has legal custudy of this minor?

YOu had the right to disagree but you agreed. YOu could force the issue of your child coming home however depending on what happened with the slap (did your daughter have a mark or bruise or was otherwise injured) you could have issues.

If she has been taken into custody by CPS you will have to contact them about the next steps. Family reunification is almost always the goal, so they will likely seek to work with your family on resolving the issues as best as they can be. You can also consider consulting an attorney for assistance.
