First of all sorry, if this the wrong section, I could not find a specific section for name change questions.

Greetings,

I have a question that I could not find the answer too via search engines etc.

I am currently 30, male and living in Philadelphia, PA. When I was 19, I got into trouble once and only once in my entire life, nothing before it or after it. No arrests, accusations or anything else, literally nothing else. I also am approximately 2 years into the pardon process of this state, for this issue. When I was 19, I was a totally different person, and gotten into an altercation and was ultimately convicted of aggravated assault. Only 4 months in jail and 2 years of probation, sentence was completed without incident and no further contact with the legal system has been made at all.

So as the title of this question indicates, will I be able to have a simple name change? I don't care about it being sealed or not, and the purpose is not to hide anything. I just simply want to change my name.

Thanks.

Assuming you disclose all that on the name change petition, I would think the court would permit it. (But it's up to the judge, not to me, so technically, "anything" can happen).
