What is the name of your state?MI

I was adopted in MI in 1949 (approximately). My birth name was Mary Kay, but when I was adopted, I was renamed Colleen Kay. Would I be able to change my name back to my birth name, and, if so, what would it involve as far as legal documents (SS, driver's lic., marriage cert., etc.) is concerned. I now live in TX. Thank you.

You are an adult, you can just do a legal name change in court. Very simple. You would need to change all legal documents with your new name- SS, passport, retirement plans, Drivers License, etc.
