When I get married, I would like my sons to have my husband's last name. Do I just need to get the father's permission to do this? They currently have my last name and have all of their lives.

Why don't you have your new husband take your name then all of you will have the same name and the children are not impacted.

If you wanted all to have the last name you should have only had children with one person, the one you want to have the last name of.

Otherwise dad would have to agree, after all they are his kids not your husbands.

Unless you get them both to agree I would say your odds of success is about 1%

Now what happens if you do get this done and divorce the new man in a year or two(judging from your track record it is a real possibility) Do you then change the names again to the next guys name?
