arkansas-- i would like to know what is involved with getting my maiden name back. i was unaware of having to get a judge to sign it back over and now i live in another state. can i still get my maiden name back?

If you are in the midst of a divorce proceeding, you can have the name change done in the paperwork for the divorce.

Mention it to your attorney or the other attorney if you do not have an attorney.

Otherwise, if you don't do it as part of the divorce, then you will have to file a separate civil suit to do that. It's a hassle that's unnecessary, so I would suggest that you make it happen as part of the divorce decree.
