anyone familar with NC divorce law? Question is the 50-7 divorce from bed and board grounds to proceed with a divorce or must you wait for the sepertation period.

I believe that you still have to wait for the separation period.

Unfortunately in NC we have to wait one full Year and one day to get a Divorce. If you have sex with your ex it WILL interfere with that year separation. NC Law Sucks..I think it should be 6 mos MAX for Separation. We need to change this law!!! I am tired of being married to a crazy, abuser!

Now you don't have to wait 1 year, because he has already filed for divorce against you, so you better get ready to respond to those divorce papers, also don't plan on remaining a stay at home mom.

ok this might be off topic (but it's gatta do with divorces) a friend of mine got divorced and her kids live at thier dad's house but want to live with her. how old must the kids be to decide who they live with in the state of NC??

Don't hijack other people's threads and if you did a search of this site you would find the answer quite easily -- CHILDREN CANNOT CHOOSE WHO THEY WANT TO LIVE WITH IN NC -- only in one state do they get that choice. Only adults can choose that. SO when does adulthood in NC start?
