My son wants to come and live with me and my wife. My ex-wife says ok and the school has suggested that we get joint custody she has full custody and i have visitation. Niether one of us can afford a attorny at this time and want to know if we write out a agreement and both of us sign and have it notarized would we be able to take that and have added to are case fill at the court house and would that be good enough for a judge?? We both live in Oklahoma and the judge will not talk to you unless you are a lawyer all the lawyers want at least $125.00/ hour and said it would take at least 8 hours of there time. Also is there a form that we can get that maybe has all the correct wording??? Thanks for all info.

Go to a library and read up on family law and on filing documents with the courts.

There should be some "model" documents you can use to craft your agreement in a format that the court will accept.

You sign it and get your ex to sign it, then submit it to the court for approval. Ask the clerk if the format appears to be correct. If it is not, make the changes to make it an acceptable format and resubmit it.

The clerk is not a lawyer and therefore cannot tell you if the substance of the agreement is OK, but he or she can tell you if the format (way it is typed and signed) is correct.

Then once the court approves it, you're golden.
