indiana,
I go to court this thursday on a matter that states ,
I mislead the plantiff on his feelings,

Now he has changed it to say that ,I stole money from him,
and came in his home and stole other belongings,He has filed
several papers in the court which the judge has denied all of them.

Then today i received a form that he has filed with the courts
stateing, that i had met with him at the police station and agreed
to pay him on a payement plan and return his things.

And has asked the judge to have this case moved to cival court.

I do admit that he gave me gifts, but no money but he has told everyone that he loaned me 500 dollars, i never had the money.

We were not dateing and i never had a physical relationship with
this man, he had asked if he could move in with me, and asked me on several times to go out with him, To me i think this case he has trumped up is all because he said he fell in love with me, but I had always told him that all i wanted was to be friends, and now he is angry.

can the judge have this case moved to a civial court on such short notice? should I have countersued, I recently found out that this is
his third small claims case that he has going right now, and the first on e has been going on for over seven years with his ex wife, he bounces her from court to court. Is'nt there only a certain amount of cases you can file in a year? any help would be grateful

please need advice

I received a letter from the court today, saying the small claims case is going to be moved to a higher court, because the plantiff wanted it moved so he can sue for more money. my question is should i now hire an attorney and what is the difference in small claims court and civil court?
