I had a guy I know from online thats in Nigeria send me a check for $4750.00 and he wanted me to cash it or put it in a bank account and take out $250.00 for my daughter n then western union the rest to him.....My family and I are in desperate need of this money as we live in a motel right now....He has promised me to send me money once he gets back in the states...He says this money is to pay for someones school fees he supports...I am wanting to know where my rights stand in this should I decide to keep the money and if I can get in trouble for doing this for him.....I am at a loss as to what to do ....On one hand I am lookin at how much this will benefit my family and then on the other I am afraid I will get in trouble if I do keep the money.....So please help me on this.

Cmon bozo, use your brain! Why would a guy in Nigeria have to send you the money he needs to pay someone else? Why not just send the money directly to that person?

If you are still planning on going ahead with being scammed, wait for the check and then go to your local bank and explain the situation. They will tell you if the check is legitimate or not.
