What is the name of your state? Florida
My neighbor approached me in August to tell me that she lost her dog in April. SHe claimed that one of my dogs was her lost dog becuase of the coloring of the dog. I advised her politely that she was mistaken. A few hours later the police department was knocking at my door. I cooperated with them but I will not give up my dog because my neighbor is mistaken. Last night once again she had the police at my home. I advised the police why I have vet bills from the begining of March my neighbor is claiming she lost her dog (which by the way she did not know the breed or sex of the dog in question)in April.

I advised the police to have her take me to court . I have never heard of these types of cases and wanted to know what I should do. Can she keep harrasing me? WHy if she lost her dog in April wil the police still keep coming out to my home. It is very embarrasing to me.What is the name of your state?

According to my neighbor it is the same color but when she approached me the first time she could not describe the breed of the dog she lost and did not even know if it was male or female. My other dogs are all differnt breeds except the oldest which is the same breed as the dog in question.

So the oldest dog and the youngest dog are the same breed. Are they the same color??

Why is it "embarrassing" to you that the police have come to your home. If you lost your pet, wouldn't you do whatever you could to get it back??? (Not judging (yet) whether this is or is not her pet)

My oldest pet is white with beige spots and the dog in question is beige. You are absolutely right I would do whatever it took to get my pet back. I ony think it is embarrassing that the other neighbors think that the police is at my home for reason that they do not understand.
