Hello, I posted this in the Wills and Probate section and the lawyer who responded suggested I post it here.Ok here is the situation, Husband and Wife have been seperated for 1 yr 3 months. Husband lives in Ohio,Wife in N.C. Husbands father dies in Ky. leaving 2 properties to only surviving son(ie. husband). Realtor selling property in Ky. claims that wife must either 1)sign over all rights of claim to husband or 2)be there for the closing and is entitled to one half of the money. There is no will.My question is , Does the wife have this right to the money, since it was inherited post-seperation and he owed her no support or any other type of payments? Thankyou.
