What is the name of your state? pa.
I bought a 01 ford Taurus in late feb or early march, I got a 1 year warranty, not a top of the line one, but a warranty none the less. I thought it was a decent one. within two weeks of owning it I had to take it back to have a small repair, from the dealer where I purchased it. there was a noise in the steering and they put in a lube kit, they called it. they fixed that as a condition of me buying the car.
a week after that the check engine light came on so I took it to the ford dealer, the computer was bad, the warranty paid for that.
two weeks later the engine started to miss, and again the engine light came on stayed on.
also every other time I try to start the car I had to pull the key back out of the ignition and try again took it back.
they said it was some sensor, [as to why it was missing,] it wasnt covered under the warranty, ching!, 90 bucks plus labor.plus the fee for the computer analysis 60 bucks.
the ignition had a bad sensory something or other, and of course its not covered under the warranty ching! another 150 bucks.
while looking under the car they discovered that both rear coil springs, [I believe they re called] were broken, along with a sway bar that was bent and rusted, and both rear strut shocks were shot as a result, they would not let me drive the car like that, too dangerous they said, the warranty only covered the springs nothing else ching! another 200 dollars plus my 50 dollar deductible.
the mechanic said someone had to drive over something to damage the car that way. of course it wasnt me, these parts have old enough rust on them to prove that it wasnt me. I told them I want all the parts as proof.
after fixing all that stuff, they called back and said the computer stopped working!, and had to order a replacement!! since it was only a month old the manufacturer covered it as well as the warranty.
now my total for all of this is nearly 800 dollars.
That car had a good inspection sticker on it when I bought it and in my opinion should have never had a good sticker on it with broken rear coils, shocks and sway bar, not to mention what the heck kind of warranty pays for so little? I partly blame myself for not taking the car to a mechanic and having him look it over, but good heavens how on earth could you sell something to someone like that? like I wasnt going to find out? I could have been killed driving that car with the whole rear end like that!
needless to say tomorrow, I am going down to the place where I bought the car and complain, it wasn't an 'as is' car what should I say to get their attention, and to make this right?
the warranty they sold me sounds useless its not covering parts that should never go bad in the first place!
I am so disappointed at the ford motor company for making a car that has so many electrical problems, quite frankly Id like the used car lot I got it from to take it back and give me back all the money I had to spend on it.
can anyone guide me as to where to start?
thanks anyone

You need to replace "partly" with "fully".
but good heavens how on earth could you sell something to someone like that?
Easy. You write them a check. They give you a bill of sale.
needless to say tomorrow, I am going down to the place where I bought the car and complain, it wasn't an 'as is' car what should I say to get their attention, and to make this right?
What makes you think it wasn't "as-is"? The warranty just means you bought an "as-is" car with a warranty.
can anyone guide me as to where to start?
Either sell the car and get something more reliable, or keep paying for repairs.

In my opinion, the shop has been very accomodating and taken pretty good care of you. Read some of the other stories on this board. The warranty you bought isn't from the dealer, it's from an independent third party. They normally only cover certain things, not the entire car.

now its worse

well the car has been at the ford dealer three times. all three times they had it for 7 or more days, telling me of other things that have gone wrong, and had to replace, none of which of course was covered by my extended warrany, plus they had to replace the computer all three times, covered by a warranty from ford, claiming that the company is having problems with them. I got the car back on thurday, and on sunday the theft modual locked the car so it cannot start.
I paid to have that modual replaced .they said it was bad. when I called them to tell them,it is bad and I cant start my car, they said there was nothing they could do!! they refuse to stand by the work they did to it. its thier part that went bad, and in two days, and if it wasnt bad in the first place, because of a computer error, I paid for nothing.I think they never replace it in the first place and lied about the computer.
now I am stuck with a car that will not start, and another ford dealer will not touch someone elses warrantied work. I had it towed to the lot where I purchased the car, becasue they told me if I had any more problems to bring it to them, so I did. they also tried to deal with the ford garage and the ford garage got ignorant with them.
I dont know what course I need to take, but to beg the used car dealer to buy it back, loose a thousand or more dollars so they have the title so they can take it to another ford dealer they work with, and hope I can get another car. but I have been avoided for two days. I feel badly to have to blame them for selling me a bad car, but they did, it wasnt right from the week after I bought it, i kept hoping the ford dealer would get it fixed right.
has anyone had any success with something like this? can I sue the ford dealer for not fixing thier errors?

Here's the deal .
Call the DMV safety inspection dept . to see if any part on the vehicle that was defective should have been repaired before an Insp. sticker was put on it .

If so , either sue in small claims court for those cost , and/or file a complaint with DMV .

Any other defects not covered under warranty is on you .

If ford keeps having the defects with these computers get the TSB print out on it also . It may be useful .

Maybe with all your armed information you can negotiate a deal with the dealer you bought it from. If not complaint to DMV on inspection issues , and the rest in small claims .
