What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Connecticut

Need some clarification (Pro Se), Alimony about to expire this August (I believe)??

My divorce docs state: “(Defendant) will pay (Plantiff), $$$ weekly for alimony for six months modifiable by either party within 6 months but term will not exceed 3 years”.

I assume this is what is referred to as Rehabilitative alimony? (I was a stay at home mother who was married ten years). I still have not secured employment yet and still need the financial assistance, at least for another 6 months or maybe longer.

I am not clear on the wording, and I am not sure if my alimony does in fact end in August or in 3 years. I am confused as to whether I need to file a Motion to extend the length of time on the alimony or if there is something else that needs to be done. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

It ends after 6 months, but you have the option to ask for a modification to extend it. However, the modification may not exceed 3 years.

You may be asked to prove that you were diligently looking for work.
