What is the name of your state? NEW JERSEY

My wife was recently notified that she was approved to receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) Benefits. They determined that her
onset of disabilty was: March 2004

The SS representative at our local office stated that my wife will not
be entitled to Medicare benefits (Part A&B) until TWENTY FOUR Months from the date of her onset of Disability. This means that she would not be
entitled to Medicare Part A&B Insurance Coverage until MARCH 2006.

We just received a MEDICARE Card in the mail listing that she has
MEDICARE Coverage (PART A only-Hospitilization) which was effective on March 2004....
is this a mistake??......or is she in fact on Medicare as a result of her
disability??

If she in fact is eligible for Medicare NOW.....can she also apply to
be eligible for Medicare Part B (doctors visits).

Clarification of these questions would be appreciated....Thank you!

If She received a Card for Part A coverage , She is now eligible for A.

Part B will kick in at 24 months .

Depending on Her/your income She may be eligible for State Aid for Drs. and scripts ..

Check with the local or Fed. SSA office by calling .
